webMethods SWIFT FIN Module Version 4.6
webMethods is pleased to introduce a major release of the webMethods SWIFT
FIN Module, version 4.6. This release enables banks and securities firms to
quickly and securely connect to the SWIFT financial network to perform financial
transactions such as: customer payments and checks, financial institution
transfers, precious metals and syndications, collection and cash letters,
securities, treasury markets, credit and guarantees, travelers checks, and cash
management and customer status.
With this release, webMethods continues to support the latest SWIFT FIN
technical standards while significantly enhancing the usability of the product.
SWIFT FIN Module has been now ported to the webMethods Integration Server
platform. This allows SWIFT FIN implementations to easily make use of robust and
comprehensive feature set of the entire webMethods Integration platform
including business process modeling, human workflow elements and monitoring.
SWIFT Messaging Capability
webMethods SWIFT FIN Module version 4.6, adds SWIFT messaging capability to
the webMethods Integration Platform. Key features in this release include
support for ISO7775 and ISO15022 messages, ability to bi-directionally transform
between ISO7775 and ISO15022 messages and the ability to provide Straight
Through Processing (STP). The Module consists of two components: SWIFT Message
and CASmf Read/Write components.
- The SWIFT Message Component is used to:
- Parse, format and process ISO 7775 and ISO 15022 SWIFT messages.
- Convert between ISO 7775 and ISO 15022 messages.
- The CASmf Read/Write Component is used to:
- Read and write messages to and from the SWIFT Network via SWIFTAlliance
Access.
- CASmf Component is one of the SWIFTAlliance Access Connectivity Options.
- Additional SWIFTAlliance Access Connectivity Options:
In addition to
CASmf interface there are two additional means by which one can connect to
SWIFTAlliance Access – MQSA and File Drop mechanisms.
- MQSA support: This is supported in the webMethods SWIFT FIN Solution by
using the webMethods MQSeries Adapter Version 3.0 (sold separately).
- File Drop Support: This is supported in the webMethods SWIFT FIN
Solution by using the File transfer Protocol (FTP) support in the
Integration Server.
Other Notable Features
- Exchange of SWIFT FIN messages
Ability to transmit and receive
ISO 7775 and ISO 15022 messages.
- SWIFT message parsing and formatting
webMethods SWIFT message
component can parse FIN messages received from SWIFT and convert them to
Integration Server Records, which are broken down into individual SWIFT fields
by the parse operation. Likewise, outgoing SWIFT messages are automatically
created from the data stored in Integration Server Records, which can be
produced by the format operation. This makes integrating SWIFT messaging
seamlessly into the backend infrastructure easier and enhances STP. Full
support is provided for the current release (November 2002 Release) of the ISO
7775 and ISO 15022 messages.
- SWIFT message conversion
The SWIFT FIN module has the
capabilities to convert between the two standards of SWIFT messages using
customizable templates. i.e., one can convert from an ISO 7775 message to an
equivalent ISO 15022 message and vice-versa.
- Flexible and configurable message templates
The webMethods SWIFT
Message Component is designed to allow new SWIFT messages formats to be
defined and existing SWIFT message formats to be updated whenever SWIFT issues
an update of their message standards. To achieve this without requiring
additional programming, the adapter makes use of XML templates, which fully
describe the structure of the SWIFT messages. The templates can be easily
edited using any text editor. Alternatively, users can modify message record
definitions in the webMethods Developer without using the templates.
- SWIFTNet FIN support
In the recent past SWIFT has introduced
their new Secure IP based network called SWIFTNet. By 2004, SWIFT plans to
migrate all customers to the new SWIFTNet network and obsolete the older X.25
based network (STN). Customers who are doing FIN messaging over the STN will
need to migrate to SWIFTNet. With this release of the webMethods SWIFT FIN
Module, customers can do SWIFT FIN over SWIFTNet (also called SWIFTNet FIN) by
connecting to SWIFTAlliance Gateway or SWIFTNet Link via SWIFTAlliance Access
5.0.
- Built on webMethods eStandards Framework
The webMethods SWIFT
FIN Module is built on the proven webMethods eStandards Framework, which means
users can utilize its strengths to build a robust SWIFT trading network. The
framework provides excellent transaction, exception and error logging and
query capabilities. Transaction logging and audit trails can also be
maintained in a relational database to ensure the integrity of all trading
partner transactions. Automatic archival of transaction messages, as well as
digital signature support, ensures non-repudiation of origin and content.
- Built-in Samples
The webMethods SWIFT FIN Module comes with
pre-built samples to help users quickly understand and learn the usage of the
product.
- SWIFT FIN Module re-platformed to Integration Server
With the
re-platforming of the product, it is now significantly easier to use. This
provides current and new SWIFT FIN users the ability to use a richer
development tool, the webMethods Developer. In addition, it makes it even
easier to take advantage of other key components of the integration platform,
such as Trading Networks for managing partners, Business Integrator for
modeling business processes, WorkFlow for introducing humans into business
processes, Process Monitor for monitoring long-running processes, and Manager
for managing the entire platform.
- Support for the current release of the SWIFT FIN Messages
This
release supports the latest release of the SWIFT FIN messages. The last
published version of the FIN messages is the November 2002 release –
webMethods supports this latest version.
- SWIFT Transformation Templates to Integration Server mapping
Utility
Customers of the webMethods SWIFT FIN Module Version 1.0 could
customize their ISO 7775 to ISO 15022 maps using transformation templates.
These existing customers who wish to convert their customized maps to the new
version of the product can use the Transformation Templates to Integration
Server Mapping Utility.
