If you will be running any of these three modules you will need to install them on a separate integration server. 4.0 Usage Notes - webMethods Integration Server 6.0.1, webMethods Developer 6.0.1, and webMethods Trading Networks 6.0.1 must be installed before you can install and run webMethods SWIFTNet Module. For information about Integration Server, Developer, or Trading Networks, see the readme files in the directory where you installed the software. - If you will be using process models to manage the execution of SWIFT messages, you will need to install webMethods Modeler 6.0.1 and webMethods Monitor 6.0.1. 5.0 Globalization webMethods SWIFTNet Module 6.0.1 conforms to the international standards of webMethods and includes support for operation in any country, locale, or language. SWIFT uses a custom character set, which is a subset of 7-bit ASCII (or optionally a subset of EBCDIC code page 037). This means that no field in a SWIFT document may contain accented or multibyte (non-ASCII) characters. If a document containing accented or multibyte characters is sent to the SWIFT network, an error generated from the SWIFT network will be communicated back to the sender by the webMethods SWIFTNet Module. Users are cautioned to normalize their data to ASCII before mapping it to SWIFT documents. SWIFT provides support for dates and numbers using a specialized internal representation. The webMethods SWIFTNet Module automatically converts to and from these formats. It also performs time-zone normalization correctly. SWIFT supports the use of multiple currencies through the use of ISO4217 three-letter currency identifiers. The webMethods SWIFT FIN Module does not currently validate data mapped by users to a currency type field. Therefore users should exercise caution when building FLOWs to ensure that the currency is handled properly. 5.1 Database Configuration The configuration of your Trading Networks database affects which characters can be stored in it. webMethods recommends that you use the most appropriate Unicode encoding for your database character set. For Oracle 8, this is "UTF8". For Oracle 9i, this is "AL32UTF8". For DB/2, this is code page 13844. For Microsoft SQL Server, an alternate schema must be used for Unicode support. Please consult your database vendor's documentation on how to set the character encoding of your database and environment. SWIFT documents, since they contain only a subset of ASCII, will not be affected by your choice of database encoding. However, you may use your Trading Networks for other applications that are affected, and you should consider these issues when configuring your system. 6.0 Deprecated Components None 7.0 Fixes and Enhancements in webMethods SWIFTNet Module 6.0.1 N/A 8.0 Copyright Information 8.1 webMethods webMethods Administrator, webMethods Broker, webMethods Developer, webMethods Installer, webMethods Integration Server, webMethods Mainframe, webMethods Manager, webMethods Modeler, webMethods Monitor, webMethods Trading Networks, webMethods Workflow, and the webMethods logo are trademarks of webMethods, Inc.
