Software AG is proud to announce the general availability of the
webMethods HL7 Module 7.1 SP1. webMethods HL7 Module
helps Software AG customers seamlessly exchange, integrate, share, and retrieve
electronic health information. It complements the webMethods HIPAA Link Module
and extends Software AG’s support for messaging standards in the healthcare
industry.
webMethods HL7 Module 7.1 SP1 includes the following features:
webMethods HL7 Module supports the entire HL7 message version 2.x standard:
2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.3.1, 2.4, 2.5, 2.5.1, 2.6, and 2.7. You get the canonical
documents for all messages out-of-the-box.
This enables you to quickly implement production solutions for all of the HL7 2.x messaging
standards.
HL7 V3 Schemas
HL7 V3 XML schemas are available out-of-the-box with HL7 module.
They can be imported straight away in Trading Networks as well as Integration
Server for HL7 version 3 implementation.
Minimal
Lower Level Protocol (MLLP) and Other Standard Trading Networks Protocols
webMethods HL7 Module
supports the MLLP transport protocol. You can listen on an MLLP port to receive
HL7 messages and also send messages using the MLLP protocol. The HL7 messaging
standard as such is not transport protocol dependent, and because HL7 Module is
well integrated with Trading Networks, you can leverage all the transports
available with Trading Networks, such as FTP, SMTP, and HTTP/S, to communicate
with your trading partners.
Integration with Trading Networks
You can now recognize HL7 documents in Trading Networks, identify
key attributes, and route them based on the content. Using HL7 Module with
Trading Networks, you can also benefit from the auto-acknowledgment option and
send accept acknowledgments to your partners.
Transformation of HL7 Messages into Integration Server Canonical Documents and Vice Versa
With out-of-the-box services, you can easily transform flat file
or XML-based HL7 version 2.x messages into Integration Server canonical
documents and vice versa. The graphical mapping tool that is part of webMethods
Designer can further ease your development needs.
Extensible Code Set
Code tables and code table values that are shipped with the
product can be extended and modified using Integration Server Administrator. If
you need to add a large number of code table values, you use the Integration
Server services to read from a file and upload the values to the repository.
webMethods HL7 Module allows you to customize code sets specific to a trading
partner. You can have code table values applicable only to a few trading
partners.
Message Customization
The HL7 v2.x messaging standard is very liberal and enterprises
have customized the message sets according to their needs. webMethods HL7
Module gives you the flexibility to customize the message structure and
definition according to your business needs. HL7 messages are defined by the
XML schemas provided by the HL7 organization and you can change the message
definitions by modifying these simple schemas.
Unified Logging
webMethods HL7 Module uses the Integration
Server’s logging mechanism to capture messages and write them to the Audit,
Error, or Server logs. For information about the HL7 Module error codes, see
the webMethods HL7 Module Installation
and User’s Guide.
For additional information
about webMethods HL7 Module, see the webMethods HL7 Module Installation and
User’s Guide on the Software
AG documentation site.
This document applies to
webMethods HL7 Module 7.1 and to all subsequent releases.
