Health Level Seven (HL7) is one of several American National Standards Institute (ANSI) -accredited Standards Developing Organizations (SDOs) operating in the area of healthcare. HL7 develops standards for the electronic interchange of clinical, financial, and administrative information among independent healthcare-oriented computer systems, such as hospital information systems.
