HIPAA Link Module Version 7.1 SP1.July 2011 | Understanding and Using HIPAA Link Module | Installing and Using HIPAA Link Module | Creating Clients that Send HIPAA Messages | Content Type to Use

Content Type to Use
The content type your client should use to send the HIPAA messages to Integration Server depends on the type of HIPAA message that you send.
When your client sends....
It should use this content type
TA1 Technical Acknowledgment
application/x-wmflatfile
All other types of HIPAA messages
application/EDIStream
Note:
For backward compatibility, Module for EDI also has content handlers to accept documents with the content types application/EDI and application/X12. With these content types, Module for EDI content handler must convert the document to a string and place it in the pipeline. This can potentially consume a lot of pipeline space and use a significant amount of memory. As a result, it is recommended that you use the content type application/EDIStream because it conserves system memory.
