Release Notes

webMethods FIX Module 7.2

Software AG is pleased to announce the release of webMethods FIX Module 7.2 FCS. Built upon the award-winning webMethods ESB platform, webMethods FIX Module enables financial institutions to exchange messages securely through the use of the Financial Information eXchange (FIX) message standard. webMethods FIX Module supports the latest FIX message formats, and provides the framework to parse and convert FIX documents for easy mapping and integration with your enterprise’s back-end system, providing true straight-through processing of FIX messages.

webMethods FIX Module 7.2 includes the following enhancements:

Clustering Support

webMethods FIX Module is cluster-aware, providing a highly available and scalable environment to handle large volumes of FIX messages. With clustering, any node in the cluster can connect to the Appia engine, and the client sending FIX messages can connect to any of the nodes in the cluster.

Configuration and Administration through My webMethods (MWS)

webMethods FIX Module enables administrators to configure the FIX Module, including the Appia engine’s host, port, and session details using the My webMethods Web user interface.

Support for Appia Engine 6.1 and 5.2

webMethods FIX Module provides support to connect to the latest versions of the Appia engine including Appia 6.1 and Appia 5.2.

Support for FIX Message Version 5.0

webMethods FIX Module supports the latest FIX message standards including versions 5.0, 5.0SP1, and 5.0SP2. FIX session protocol version FIXT 1.1 is also supported.

Delivery Monitoring of Outgoing FIX Messages

webMethods FIX Module now enables complete monitoring of the delivery of FIX messages. The delivery status of an outbound FIX message during the various transition states is captured and can be viewed through the Transaction Details screen in Trading Networks.

Enhanced Logging

webMethods FIX Module now uses the logging mechanism of Integration Server to capture messages and write them to the Audit, Error, or Server logs. You can choose the level and type of information you need to see (for example: debug, info, error), and enable or disable logging depending upon your operational needs.

Reliable Delivery and Guaranteed Ordering

webMethods FIX Module provides reliable message delivery when sending messages. FIX Module automatically detects if the connection to the FIX engine is lost and attempts to reestablish the connection until it is restored or the retry limit is met. If there are any unsent messages, FIX Module adds them to the queue and resends them as soon as the connection is reestablished.

webMethods FIX Module also guarantees the order of messages by sending the messages to the Appia engine in the order in which they were received or stored.

For the most up to date information about the software and operating systems that the module supports, see webMethods eStandards Modules System Requirements, available from the webMethods area of the Software AG Documentation Web site.

Additional Information

For important updates and a list of enhancements and issues that have been addressed in this release, see the product’s readme file. You can access the readme, as well as all product documentation, from the webMethods area on the Software AG Documentation Web site.
