Changing the default Function Name in an RFC notification does not remove the
old fields that belong to the default function, and results in a runtime error.
When configuring an Integration Server with the SAP Adapter and creating an RFC Notification, the default Function Pattern for a new RFC notification is 'RFC*', which might select an RFC function on a configured SAP System that has a specific input/output signature. The Adapter Runtime (WmART) then adds these fields from this RFC to the request/reply signature for this notification. However, when the Function Name is changed, WmART does not delete these old fields. Therefore, the fields of the originally selected RFC are still in the publishable document for the new function. In case of an Asynchronous RFC Notification, this leads to a runtime error later because these fields are not optional.
This issue will be addressed in a future release. As a workaround for this issue, change the RFC Function Name back to the default first entry. Then select/deselect all the fields in the Request Field Selection tab of the RFC notification in webMethods Developer, and then change the Function Name back to the desired function name.

The webMethods SAP Adapter 6.5 Service Pack 1 includes the following fixes that were shipped since the last release.
- WmSAP_6-5_Fix1
- WmSAP_6-5_Fix2
- WmSAP_6-5_Fix3
- WmSAP_6-5_Fix4
For detailed information regarding these fixes and service packs, see the Knowledge Base on the webMethods Advantage Web site.
webMethods SAP Adapter 6.5 Service Pack 1 includes the following enhancements:
Migration Utility
SAP Adapter 6.5 does not support upgrading from the previous versions of the
SAP Adapter. With SAP Adapter 6.5 SP1, a migration utility is introduced that
allows you to programmatically upgrade existing SAP Adapter 4.6 based
application packages to be compatible with SAP Adapter 6.5. Alternatively,
you can also perform the upgrade steps manually, following the detailed
instructions provided in the webMethods SAP Adapter Installation Guide 6.5
Service Pack 1.
Asynchronous RFC Notification Template
To process the inbound RFC's asynchronously, that is, to publish them locally
or to the Broker, a new RFC listener notification template is added.
Centralized Transaction Store
A Centralized Transaction Store is introduced that
enables you to implement robust inbound or outbound load balancing using tRFCs
and IDocs in a cluster of logically grouped SAP Adapters.
Static Local RFC Metadata Repository
A static local RFC metadata repository is introduced to run the WmSAPOptimize
package without adding RFC declarations to the SAP R/3 backend.
