In
the Remedy AR System, the workflow automates the company’s processes
through the use of active links, filters, and escalations. With the new Remedy
Adapter ARS Server Operations template, you can now kick start a Remedy
workflow process.
Remedy Adapter 7.1 now supports 64-bit platforms. For the most up-to-date information about the software and operating systems that the adapter supports, see the webMethods Adapters System Requirements posted on the Software AG Documentation Web site (http://documentation.softwareag.com/).
webMethods Remedy Adapter 6.0 is an add-on
to webMethods Integration Server that enables you to exchange data with the
Remedy Action Request System (AR System), which is the base for all Remedy
applications. The adapter provides seamless and real-time communication with
the AR System server. The adapter enables you to create integrations that
initiate actions from Integration Server that are performed in the AR System.
You can also detect changes in the AR System and send notifications to
Integration Server.
The Remedy Adapter enables you to establish
and manage connections to your Remedy systems. Remedy connections and
connection pools are fully managed by the adapter. Through these connections
you can create and run your Remedy integrations.
Remedy Adapter provides service templates
for interactions with the Remedy AR server. These user-interface-based
templates make it easy to develop adapter services to interact with Remedy. To
perform the adapter service actions, Remedy Adapter uses the AR System Java
APIs.
Service templates represent specific tasks
for doing work with Remedy. For example, a Remedy Adapter service that creates
an entry in Remedy is based on the Create service template included with the
adapter. You can create specific adapter services using the templates and
invoke them from your integration flows.
Remedy Adapter provides the following
adapter service templates:
Template |
Description |
Create |
Creates an entry in the AR System database based on a selected AR System form. |
Delete |
Deletes an entry with a specified entry ID number from the AR System database. |
Find |
Locates one or more entries that are stored in the AR System database and that match specified search criteria. |
Get |
Retrieves the details for an existing entry in the AR System database that uses a specified form and has a specified entry ID. |
Update |
Updates fields for an existing entry in the AR System database. |
Each entry in the AR System database uses a
specific form. When you create a Remedy adapter service, you must select an
existing form to provide the schema for the entry upon which the adapter
service is to act. To simplify development, Remedy Adapter dynamically provides
a list of forms that are currently defined in the AR System at development
time, based on the connection parameters you define.
You can set up filters in the AR System that
detect specific changes that occur in the AR System. When a change is detected,
the AR System server sends the information defined in the filter. To notify
Integration Server of a change, you can set up the filter to send an e-mail
message to Integration Server, or you can invoke a Web service.
webMethods Remedy Adapter 6.0 supports
Remedy versions 5.1.2, 6.0, and 6.3.
For a complete list of the required software
and hardware, see the webMethods Remedy Adapter Installation Guide 6.0.
