If you send outbound documents through Adapter for OFTP there is full support for large document handling of the contents within Trading Networks. By the guaranteed delivery mechanism, the documents are submitted to the OFTP Gateway service.

If documents are received by the OFTP Gateway, they are held in memory until they are stored in the Trading Networks database with document type oftpMessageIn. During extracting the content they reside in memory until they are submitted to tn:receive service (known format) or stored as document type oftpPayload in the Trading Networks database (unknown formats). Therefore sufficient memory has to be provided by the hardware.
