Adapter connections enable Integration Server to connect to the HDFS cluster at run time. An Adapter for HDFS connection contains parameters that Integration Server uses to connect to the HDFS cluster. The number of connections you create depends on your integration needs and the number of users who need to connect to the HDFS cluster. You must create a separate adapter connection for each unique user accessing the HDFS cluster.

You must have administrator privileges on Integration Server to access the administrative screens for Adapter for HDFS and configure the adapter connections. For information about setting user privileges, see the webMethods Integration Server Administrator’s Guide for your release.
