The Mashup-to-External-List Process
The steps to connect to an external system and integrate this dynamic information as using MashZone NextGen mashups are:
1. In MashZone NextGen Hub, create a mashable or mashup to connect to the external system with the information you want to use in a SharePoint list.
2. In Wires (in MashZone NextGen Hub), create a mashup that adapts the mashable or mashup you created in the previous step to allow SharePoint to use this mashup as an external content type.
3. In SharePoint Designer, Create an External Content Type for a Mashup using the mashup created in the previous step.
4. In SharePoint Designer, Create an External Content List from a Mashup using the external content type created in the previous step to connect to the ECT-enabled mashup in MashZone NextGen.
Save this list, add views or use any feature in SharePoint or SharePoint Designer to integrate this external list in your site.
