Installation for Presto uses a base configuration for a small web application for both the Presto Server and the Integrated MashZone Server. This uses local memory only from the heap. In many cases, this base configuration is sufficient to work with Presto in development environments with individual user computers.

You may need to adjust this configuration to provide adequate performance when you work with large datasets in Presto Analytics, to use specific features in BigMemory or when you install Presto in staging or production environments.
