Insert Input field in a dashboard
You can insert a Input field in your Freeform dashboard.
The Input field enables you to enter values manually for filtering other dashboard components. See for details.
Procedure
1. Create or open a dashboard in Presto Freeform.
2. Click the Input field component icon. The selected component is inserted in the dashboard and the properties dialog is displayed.
3. Enter an optional component Name.
4. Select a Data type for the user input. The user can only insert values of the selected data type. Click on the Text, Number or Date icon.
5. Select a Format in the drop-down menu. The user can only insert values with the selected format.
The option is only available for Date data type.
6. Insert an optional Initial value. The Initial value will be displayed in the Input field as default preset value.
7. Activate the Current date/time option to insert the current date in the Initial value box.
The component always uses the current date and time of the dashboard at runtime. The option is only available for Date data type. The value displayed depends on the format selected.
8. Enter an alternative text in the Submit button text box if necessary .
The text will be displayed in the Input field instead of the default text Ok.
9. Activate the Show submit button option to display the submit button in the Input field.
10. Activate the Submit value with each keystroke option if necessary. The Input field will submit the entered values with each keystroke immediately.
For Date and Number the Input field will only submit valid date or number values .
An Input field will be displayed with the preset value.
