Presto Add-On for SharePoint
The Presto Add-On for SharePoint can act as both a source of information for Presto and a destination for apps and mashups. You use this add-on to create native SharePoint Web Parts for apps or mashups, providing dynamic, real-time integration to the full range of information sources in Presto. This also leverages Presto governance for these resources.
Once apps or mashups are published as native Web Parts, they can be added to any SharePoint Web Part page for end user consumption. Being native, these Web Parts have deep integration with the SharePoint platform, including support for the SharePoint communication framework. Similar to app integration in workspace apps, this allows Web Parts for Apps and mashups to interact with other artifacts in a SharePoint Web Part page, including other native Web Parts such as SharePoint Lists, Choice Filters, or Text Filters.
Presto Add-On for SharePoint also allows data from SharePoint to be used as information sources for Presto artifacts. You can register SharePoint lists as mashable information source or directly use SharePoint lists, list views or search results as information in mashups.
Administrators can connect any number of SharePoint farms, sites or site collections with any number of Presto Servers and determine the specific scope of each connection. Administrators can also manage authentication requirements in both directions between SharePoint and Presto. Generally authentication is session-based, but can also use single sign-on services for the Microsoft SharePoint Server.
