The information in this section applies to all installation methods. The following topics are covered:
The following products must be installed before you install PAC / PAA 2.7.1.
Natural Version 9.2.
Adabas Version 8.5.
The following Adabas parameter should be set during the installation of PAC/PAA 2.7.1:
NISNHQ=200 (or greater)
Predict version 8.5 or above.
Predict Compatibility:
Since PAC and PAA provide change management for both Predict and Natural objects, they must be compatible with new versions of Predict. Thus, the structure of the PAC PCF system file must match the version of the Predict installed.
The PAC PCF system files provided on the PAC / PAA 2.7 installation tape are compatible with Predict versions 8.5 and lower. The PAC PCF system file must not be shared between different versions of Predict.
These products are not in any particular order, but if used with PAC/PAA 2.7.1, the following prerequisites must be met:
Natural Security Version 9.2.
Natural Security is required to restrict users in the PAA system from performing administration functions and from initiating loads.
Natural Security is required to access User Exit subprograms from libraries other than SYSPAC and SYSPAA.
Natural for DB2 version 9.2.
Entire System Server version 3.4.n is required to support foreign objects. Set the following ESY startup parameter:
IUBL=12000 (recommended)
You may wish to fine-tune this parameter with the parameters in module NATPNIPS, depending on the requirements of your installation.
Natural Construct 8.2.
z/OS environment - Com-plete, CICS, TSO, and IMS DC TP-monitors.
CMS environment - CMS TP-monitor.
The method used for installing PAC/PAA depends on your operating system environment.
Installation of Software GmbH products on z/OS is performed by installation jobs. These jobs are either adapted "manually", or generated by System Maintenance Aid (SMA).
For each step of the installation procedure described below, the job number of a job performing the respective task is indicated. This job number refers to an installation job generated by SMA. If you are not using SMA, a sample installation job of the same number is provided in the job library on the PAC/PAA installation tape; you must adapt this example job to your requirements. Please note that the job numbers on the tape are preceded by a product code (for example, PACI061 or PAAI050).
The installation of Software GmbH products is performed by installation procedures. Sample procedures are provided on the installation tape.

These procedures are only examples and must be adapted to your
environment as required.
Note
System Maintenance Aid is not available for operating system
VM/CMS.
If you are using Software AG System Maintenance Aid (SMA) for the installation process, please note the following before generating jobs.
Load the SMA table data as described in the System Maintenance Aid documentation (if you have not already done so).
Set PAC 2.7.n in the list of available products for your environment to "TO BE INSTALLED".
Proceed with the steps described below, depending on the installation method you choose.
Make the following settings in parameter group OPTION depending on your operating system:
For z/OS, set the parameter PAC-FIRST-INSTALL to Y.
After successful installation, you are strongly recommended to set the above parameters to N and to commit the environment.
If a PAC version 2.6 is marked as "INSTALLED" in your SMA environment, you can convert / upgrade to version 2.7.1 with the following parameter settings in parameter group OPTION.
For z/OS, set the parameter PAC-FIRST-INSTALL to N.
