Natural for Visual Studio Code 1.2.1 | Prerequisites | Preparing the Workspace

Preparing the Workspace
To get started, clone a workspace from a Git branch that contains NaturalONE projects.
In Visual Studio Code, open the workspace root folder, that is, the parent folder of the Natural projects. Any subfolder that contains a .natural file is recognized as a Natural project.
Note:
If you open a project folder instead of the workspace root folder, Natural for Visual Studio Code still provides syntax highlighting for Natural source files. However, you cannot build, execute, or debug the application. See also Troubleshooting.
Natural Workspace Structure
A Natural workspace is structured as follows:
ProjectDir
|
| - .vscode
| launch.json the launch configurations
| settings.json the Natural workspace preferences
|
| - Project1
|
| .natural the Natural properties of a project
| natural.proj user specific project settings
| deploy.xml required for building projects
| - Natural-Libraries/
| - LIB11
| ...
| - ...
| - Project2
| .natural
| natural.proj
| deploy.xml
| - Natural-Libraries/
| - LIB21
| ...
| - ...
| ...
The .vscode folder contains the settings that apply to the entire workspace, that is, the launch configurations in launch.json (see Maintaining Launches) and the Natural preferences in settings.json.
Project-specific settings are stored in the project's .natural file and are maintained with the Natural Properties Manager. See The Natural Properties Manager and Preparing a Natural Project for more information.
