Creating Fields
The tool palette in the upper-right corner of the canvas provides the following creation tools:
Add Data Field - Creates a new data field.
Add Text Constant - Creates a new text constant.
Select a tool, and then select the position on the canvas where you want to place the new field. The tool creates the field in the character cell under the mouse pointer.
The palette header also provides the standard diagram tools: the selection tool, deletion tool, and marquee tool (rubber-band selection).
