The parameter group BASIC contains parameters which are used for general tasks of SMA. The following tables show the most important parameters grouped by task.
Note:
In this section, the term "tape" represents any
installation media (e.g. tape and CD-ROM) supported by Software AG. The
information provided here applies to the use of any of these
media.

The parameter SMA2
is used to indicate that the
SMA application is running under SMA Version 2. After SMA Version 2 is
installed, this parameter must be set to Y in all environments (including the
BS2000/OSD default environment). You can use the command
TV
(Transfer Value) in the Modify Parameter menu to
set this parameter to Y in all environments.
This parameter was introduced to enable a smooth transition to the new procedure P.SMA which executes all SMA functions which are necessary for the administration and installation of Software AG products.
The procedure P.SMA replaces the following procedures and data elements which were used under SMA Version 1:
