The Transfer Object facility enables the system administrator to copy objects to a target environment on another database, for example, to transfer objects from a test environment to a production environment.

Objects not yet existing in the target environment will be copied.
Dependent (related) objects have to be copied first. To ascertain which the
related objects are, you use the line command
XR
.
The following fields are common to all screens of the Transfer Object facility:

To list existing bundles:

With PF9 (Ext) you can switch to short names display.
For every bundle, its name, a short description and the number of reports contained in the bundle are displayed.
By using asterisk notation in the input field above the names, you can restrict the list to contain only certain bundles.
To copy a bundle to a target environment:
On the "Copy Bundle to Target Environment" screen, enter the line
command CO
next to the bundle to be copied.
The bundle will be copied to the specified target file.
To display related objects and related reports for a bundle:
On the Copy Bundle screen, enter the line command
XR
next to the bundle for which to display
information.
Two windows with the following information are displayed:

To copy a calendar to the target environment:

For every distribution list, the following is displayed: its name, a short description, the number of its members. An asterisk (*) in the field "Part of" indicates that the distribution list is part of another distribution list.
By using asterisk notation in the input field above the names, you can restrict the list to contain only certain distribution lists.
To copy a distribution list to the target environment:
On the Copy Distribution List screen, enter the line command
CO
next to the distribution list to be copied.
The distribution list will be copied to the specified target file specified.
To display related objects for a distribution list:
On the Copy Distribution List screen, enter the line command
XR
next to the distribution list for which to
display information.
A list of all users and distribution lists that are members of the selected distribution list is displayed.
To list existing logical printers:
Enter 4
on the command line of the

For every logical printer, its ID, a short description, and the location of the associated physical printer (as taken from the definition of the physical printer) are displayed.
By using asterisk notation in the input field above the printer IDs, you can restrict the list to contain only certain printers.
To copy a logical printer to the target environment:
On the Copy Logical Printer screen, enter the line command
CO
next to the logical printer to be copied.
The printer will be copied to the specified target file.
To display related objects for a logical printer:
On the Copy Logical Printer screen, enter the line command
XR
next to the logical printer for which to display
information.
The name of the physical printer associated with the logical printer is displayed.
To list existing physical printers:

For every physical printer, its VTAM ID (or SYSPRINT for system printers, or DISK for printing to disk) and its location are displayed.
By using asterisk notation in the input field above the VTAM IDs, you can restrict the list to contain only certain printers.
To copy a physical printer to the target environment:
On the Copy Physical Printer screen, enter the line command
CO
next to the printer to be copied.
The printer will be copied to the specified target file.
To list existing reports:
Enter 6
on the command line of the
Transfer Object Menu.
The "Copy Report to a Target Environment" screen is displayed.

For every report, its name and a short description are displayed.
By using asterisk notation in the input field above the report names, you can restrict the list to contain only certain reports.
To copy a report to the target environment:
On the Copy Report screen, enter the line command
CO
next to the report to be copied.
The report will be copied to the specified target file.
To display related objects for a report:
On the Copy Report screen, enter the line command

next to the report for which to display
information.
The Display Related Objects window is displayed. It contains the following fields:
