Natural CICS Interface Version 8.3.4

CICS Interface Version 8.3.4 is available from Natural Version 8.2.7 onwards.

This section describes the new features of Natural CICS Interface Version 8.3.4.

New Terminal Command for Calling Quasi-Reentrant Subprograms

On z/OS, the new %P=SQ terminal command can be used in a Natural CICS running in the CICS OTE environment (threadsafe) to call quasi-reentrant user programs.

For this purpose, the supplied assembler program NCILINKQ must be installed in CICS as quasi-reentrant. See the relevant installation instructions described in Installing Natural CICS Interface Version 8.3.4 on z/OS in the Installation documentation.

zIIP Processing Report at Shutdown

When you shut down a CICS environment where Natural zIIP Enabler is installed, a report is now printed containing general zIIP information and component switch statistics.

New Timeout Parameter and Cleanup Functions for Inactive Sessions

The new SESSION_TIMOUT parameter provides the option to set a time limit for inactive sessions. If set, you can now immediately cancel an inactive session by using either the new Cleanup command button from the HTML Monitor Client or the new –cCleanup command from the NATMOPI Monitor Client.
