This document provides an overview of functionality no longer supported with this Natural version. The following topics are covered:
Natural 6.3 is the last version to deliver SYSWEB
.
The interface SYSWEB3
is now to be used instead of
SYSWEB
. SYSWEB
is only delivered on the product CD
and can only be installed manually. It is therefore recommended that you update
your programs written for SYSWEB
to run with the new interface
SYSWEB3
. See
Migrate
Natural Web Interface SYSWEB to SYSWEB3 in the
Web Technology documentation for further information.
Natural 6.3 is the last version to deliver the graphics interface to Excel.
The graphics interface to Excel, which was previously documented in the Operations documentation, is no longer supported. Therefore, the corresponding dynamic link library Natgraph.dll has been removed from the Natural 6.3 binaries directory.
It is recommended that any application which still uses this graphics interface should be changed to use the features provided by NaturalX instead. This possibility, which exists for some time now, can be used, for example, for communication with Excel.
If this interface is absolutely necessary for the execution of your
Natural applications, you will find the DLL in the Install
directory of your installed Natural 6.3 environment (for example
C:\Program Files\Software AG\Natural\6.3\Natural\Install).
Copy the DLL to your Natural 6.3 Bin directory (for
example, C:\Program Files\Software AG\Natural\6.3\Bin)
and, if not already done, specify it with the
NATUSER
environment variable:
set NATUSER=%NATUSER%;Natgraph
Note:
Do not specify the file extension
".dll".
If you receive the Natural startup error 26 (Error loading
DLL: 'Natgraph' Check NATUSER variable.
), refer to the above
information.
Natural 6.3 is the last version to deliver the utilities
SYSPAUL
and
SYSTRANS
.
The utilities SYSPAUL
and
SYSTRANS
are no longer installed by default. The
Natural Object
Handler is to be used instead.
However, if you want to continue using these utilities, you can still
issue the system commands which invoke these utilities (SYSPAUL
and
SYSTRANS
). When you issue such a system command for
the first time, you have the possibility to install the corresponding utility.
Follow the installation instructions displayed on the screen. When the
installation for a utility has been completed, you can invoke it using the
corresponding system command.
The documentation for these utilities can be found as a PDF book in the archive of the Natural Documentation CD.
Natural 6.3 is the last version to deliver the Application Shell and the Frame Gallery.
The Application Shell and the Frame Gallery are no longer installed. The
corresponding menu commands have been removed from Natural Studio. The
functionality of Application Shell and Frame Gallery is delivered as an
INPL
file only.
However, if you want to continue using these tools, you can invoke the
program INSTAPSH
(which invokes the Application Shell) and/or
INSTFRG
(which invokes the Frame Gallery). When you invoke such a
program for the first time, you have the possibility to install the
corresponding tool. Follow the installation instructions displayed on the
screen. To start the Frame Gallery, call the dialog ZXGMAIN
from
the library SYSCOMP
. To start the Application Shell, call the
dialog ZXXXFR0D
from the library SYSCOMP
.
The documentation for the Application Shell and Frame Gallery can be found as PDF books in the archive of the Natural Documentation CD.
Natural 6.3 is the last version to deliver the Natural DDE interface (Natdde.dll).
The Natural DDE interface is no longer supported. Therefore, the corresponding dynamic link library Natdde.dll has been removed from the Natural 6.3 binaries directory.
If this interface is absolutely necessary for the execution of your Natural applications, you will find the DLL in the Install directory of your installed Natural 6.3 environment (for example C:\Program Files\Software AG\Natural\6.3\Natural\Install). Copy the DLL to your Natural 6.3 Bin directory.
