External Communication

The API subprograms that refer to nicknames for an address at an external node (such as Z-ADD01) or external nodes (such as Z-ADD74) contain the following parameter:

You must redefine the Node-parameters according to the mail method you are using. This is explained below.

Spoolfile

When you use the spoolfile, you must redefine the Node-parameters as follows:

Receiver	A32	R	The name or ID of the receiver.
Filler2	A14		Must be blank.
Con-nect-Node	A8	R	The name of the Con-nect node.

Transport Service

When you use the transport service, you must redefine the Node-parameters as follows:

Con-nect Teleservices

Con-nect Teleservices uses the spool file. It does not use the transport service.

For a TOPCALL, CAESAR or GNT system, you must redefine the Node-parameters as follows:

Send-date	N4	R	The date when the message is to be sent.

Cancel	A1	R	Cancel the telex, teletex or telefax.
To	A65	R	The name of the recipient.

To2	A56	R	The second field of the "To" line.
From	A65	R	The name of the sender.
Redefine From
From1	A9	R	The first field of the "From" line.
From2	A56	R	The second field of the "From" line.
Subject	A60	R	The subject of the message.
Redefine Subject
Subject1	A9	R	The first field of the "Subject" line.
Subject2	A51	R	The second field of the "Subject" line.
Device	A8	R	The name of the device from which the telex, teletex or telefax is sent.
Number-extension	A7	R	Used if the telex, teletex or telefax number is longer than 16 characters/digits.

Con-nect SNADS

Con-nect SNADS uses the spool file. It does not use the transport service.

You must redefine the Node-parameters as follows:

RGN	A8	O	Routing Group Name. The first part of the DSUN.
REN	A8	R	Routing Element Name. The second part of the DSUN.

DGN	A8	R	Distribution Group Name. The first part of the DUN.
DEN	A8	R	Distribution Element Name. The second part of the DUN.

Note:
You can also specify an asterisk (*) in the first byte of the parameters RGN, REN, DGN or DEN and leave the remaining bytes empty. When you specify an asterisk, the user is later prompted to provide further information.
