The Natural API Server provides access to Natural subprograms through REST API calls based on OpenAPI standard. This allows external applications to access and reuse Natural business logic without rewriting existing Natural subprograms. The OpenAPI descriptions can be generated automatically.
The Natural API Server consists of the following components:
Natural Subprogram Server for z/OS or Linux and Cloud.
Natural OpenAPI Server as interface between REST API clients and the Natural Subprogram Server. This component runs standalone as Embedded Tomcat® or is deployed in a Java Application Servers like Apache Tomcat® or Liberty®.
NaturalONE OpenAPI Plugin to generate and deploy Natural OpenAPI services.
The Natural API Server is available as an installed component of your Natural for z/OS or Linux environment, or as an Eclipse Plugin for NaturalONE.
