Handling the SHRLIBRGNSIZE Warning Message BPXI039I
Depending on your system configuration, the JES job log may display the SHRLIBRGNSIZE system limit warning message BPXI039I when Jopaz is executed.
The warning message indicates how utilized the shared library memory is. It also indicates the percentage of shared library memory that is already in use. The percentage can be specified as 85% or 100% in the message.
This does not affect the function of Jopaz, but it is important to note that, once the storage limit of the shared region is reached, the libraries are loaded into the user's private storage. This can impact the performance of Jopaz and applications compiled with Jopaz.
You can use the following operator command to view the current value of the SHRLIBRGNSIZE parameter:
D OMVS,L
The value of the z/OS UNIX System Services parameter SHRLIBRGNSIZE can also be adjusted and increased by the system administrator, but no recommendation can be given for this particular limit setting, as it depends on the needs of the system.
IBM provides a REXX tool named WJSIGSHL that can be used to list the modules that have been loaded into the shared library region.
