Testing a Database Connection
To test the database connection using the InfoNaut Query Tool:
1. Launch InfoNaut - The CONNX Query Tool.
2. In the InfoNaut window, go to Connections > Add New Connection.
3. In the Select Data Source window, go to the Machine Data Source tab, select CONNXxSAMPLES32, and click OK.
4. In the CONNX Integrated Logon window, type your server user name and password and select an installed CONNX application.
5. In the CONNX Integrated Security window, click Yes to add this user to the Samples CDD.
6. In the CONNX Database Logon window, enter the name of your data server and click OK.
7. The InfoNaut Connection Established information box appears. Click OK.
If the connection was not established successfully, the Unable to open connection to server message indicates one of the following:
The user name or password you used is not valid.
Verify the correct user name and password and try again.

The data server was too busy.
Wait a few seconds and try again.

The network is down and connection with the data server is not possible.
Check with your network administrator and try again when network is corrected.

You did not select the correct data source name from the DSN list.
Verify the correct data source name and try again.
8. In the InfoNaut window, type the command select * from equipmnt_nnn, where nnn is the database connection you are testing: equipmnt_rms, equipmnt_rdb, equipmnt_dbms, or equipmnt_dataflex. Click Execute Query.
9. When finished testing all applicable databases, click Disconnect for each connection, select File on the menu bar, and click Exit.
