Managing Database Accounts
You can use CONNX to access multiple databases with a single CDD. To simplify the log on process, when you successfully log on to a database, the log on credentials are encrypted stored in the CDD. See Database Account Management for more information.
You can use the online CDD Manager to configure the database accounts on a CDD user or CDD user group basis.
*To configure a database account:
1. Go to the main online CONNX Data Dictionary Manager page.
You can select CONNX Data Dictionary from the home page or the tile menu on the top right.
2. Open a CDD for editing.
3. Select the Security tab from the top of the page.
4. Select the Database Account Management tab.
5. Select the user or group users you want to configure from the dropdown menu.
6. Click the Edit icon to the right of the database you want.
7. Enter the database server name in the Server Name field.
8. Enter the database username Database user ID field.
9. Enter the database password in the Database Password and Confirm Database Password fields.
If you are editing the database account information of an existing database account, you can change the database password. To do so, turn the Change Database Password option on. If the password on the host server is changed, CONNX will automatically prompt for the new password and update it when you try to connect.
10. Click Save.
