Activating an Emergency License
In the rare situation where licenses become invalid and no longer appear in the license administrator, and you are unable to contact technical support to resolve the issue (non-business hours, or a weekend), you can generate a temporary 7 day license. To generate an emergency license, you need a computer with internet access and the following information from the License Administrator and Server:
*Serial number of the license that is activated on the license server
*Hardware code from the License Administrator
*Authentication code that is generated from the License Administrator
*Company name associated with the serial number of the license
Important:
You can activate an emergency license only once. If you need to move an activated emergency license between License Servers, you must create a Support Incident in the Empower Support Portal for assistance in moving the Emergency 7 day License.
1. Open the License Administrator.
2. Click Offline License Activation.
3. Supply the following to generate an Authentication code:
*Serial number from the license that is currently activated on the license server.
*The company name to which the current license is registered.
The Authentication code is automatically generated once the serial number and the company name are provided.
4. Go to http://www.connx.com/Emergency/Emergency.aspx.
5. Copy over the following information from the "Offline License Activation" screen:
*Serial number
*Hardware code
*Authentication code
*Company name
6. Click Generate Temporary 7 day License.
This generates an Activation code.
7. Go back to the License Administrator and enter the generated Activation Code.
8. Click Activate.
To list all licenses currently in use, in the CONNX License Administrator window, click View active license locks.
