Critical Changes
This section lists critical changes in the current release that require action or introduce important changes in the product behavior.
New name for InstantdbSync for Adabas "InstantdbSync for Adabas" is now renamed to "Adabas Event Replicator for LUW."
New name for CONNX for Adabas "CONNX for Adabas" is now renamed to "Adabas SQL Gateway."
RM COBOL Support CONNX no longer supports RM COBOL.
Solaris Support CONNX no longer supports Solaris.
HP-UX Support CONNX no longer supports HP-UX.
SunOS Support CONNX no longer supports SunOS.
SCO Openserver Support CONNX no longer supports SCO Openserver.
OS/390 Support CONNX no longer supports OS/390. CONNX 14.8 is the last version that supports OS/390 and, after June of 2024, no patches or updates will be made for any version of CONNX.
z/VSE Support CONNX no longer supports z/VSE. CONNX 14.8 is the last version that supports z/VSE and after June 2024, no patches or updates will be made for the Adabas and VSAM VSE data servers for any version of CONNX.
JMS Support CONNX no longer supports JMS as a DataSync or replication target.
EntireX Support CONNX no longer supports EntireX as a DataSync or replication target.
New Functionality
This section includes new functionality added in the product with the current release.
Aggregating Identical Adabas Databases You can now execute queries across multiple identical Adabas databases with identical files with the MultiDB functionality. The identically structured Adabas databases are treated as a single logical database.
Hint for Supported Databases for MultiDB The MultiDB function of CONNX now includes a hint that lists the databases that can be read.
Added Client_Timeout Registry Setting for the REST Server The Client_Timeout registry setting has been added for the REST Server.
Added Support for DataSync on 64-bit Windows CONNX now supports DataSync on 64-bit Windows.
Added Processor Affinity Setting for DataSync on Windows The processor affinity configuration setting has been added for CONNXSyncItem.exe (DataSync) on Windows.
Added Connection Pooling Support to the Wire Protocol Functionality of the .NET Data Provider CONNX now supports connection pooling of the wire protocol functionality of the .NET Data Provider.
InfoNaut Available without a License The features of InfoNaut Professional no longer require a license. There is no longer a Lite version or Professional version. InfoNaut now contains all the features of the previous Professional version except for the Report Writer. Support for the Report Writer has been discontinued.
File Timestamp Check in DataSync The Savepoint CDC option now performs a file timestamp check for Microfocus and CISAM files. If the timestamp of the data file does not change, the synchronization skips the incremental sync entirely.
Deprecated and Removed Functionality
This section includes deprecated and removed functionality in the product with the current release.
Report Writer for InfoNaut Support CONNX no longer supports the Report Writer for InfoNaut.
Resolved Issues
This section includes the issues that are resolved in this product release.
CDD Download Speed in Online CONNX Suite CONNX Data Dictionaries now download faster in the Online CONNX Suite.
Crash in the Enterprise Server Service The Microfocus driver might cause a crash in the Enterprise Server Service when the nterprise Server Service attempts to perform unsupported functions.
The issue is resolved.
Dropping Internal Tables and Views for DataSync Savepoint Syncs CONNX might drop internal tables and views for DataSync savepoint syncs to reduce locking contention against the CDD.
The issue is resolved.
Adabas HF (high values) Flag for Binary Fields CONNX now properly handles the Adabas HF (high values) flag for binary fields which are used when casting binary fields to integer in the CDD.
Checkbox Selected in the CONNX Installer In the CONNX installer, the Adabas SQL Gateway Embedded SQL Setup default value is always checked.
The issue is resolved. The default value is now unchecked.
Unique Indexes in DataSync DataSync might not detect unique indexes.
The issue is resolved.
Encoding of WCHAR characters WCHAR characters are not encoded correctly in the Mariadb/MySQL driver.

Broken Connections in the Online CONNX Suite Connections in the Online CONNX Suite might break due to cached connections.
The issue is resolved.
Registry Settings in Adabas Event Replicator on Windows In the Adabas Event Replicator on Windows, replication references 32-bit registry settings instead of 64-bit settings.
The issue is resolved.
Memory Issues When an invalid SSL connection is made to the JDBC server, CONNX has memory issues due to a memory leak in the SSL logic.
The issue is resolved.
DataSync Hanging when Creating Transform When you are creating a transform, DataSync might hang on the REST call.
The issue is resolved.
DataSync Error “LOGFILE_FAILURE – One or more errors occurred.” DataSync shows the error “LOGFILE_FAILURE – One or more errors occurred.”

Incorrect List of Databases in CDD Databases might show up in the database list of a CDD when they weren't selected during the installation of CONNX. This issue occurred with the SAMPLES.CDD

Downloading SAMPLES.CDD When you download the SAMPLES.CDD, "The specified file is not a CDD." error might occur.

GET /api/cdd/object/connxtables/{fulltablename} API call The performance of GET /api/cdd/object/connxtables/{fulltablename} API call is now improved.
Corrupted CDD When you delete a user, a CDD might become corrupted.

Moved or Deleted CDD Still Showing When you move or delete a CDD, it remains in the recently-opened list.

LIMIT clause in UNION SQL Statement The LIMIT clause in a UNION SQL statement for relational databases where the SQL would have been passed through to the database now performs properly.
Performace and Memory Issues CONNX might experience performance and memory issues due to large CDDs.
The issues are resolved.
Decimal Data Types for DBMS CONNX now has more precise decimal data types for DBMS.
IDMS ODBC Driver Performance Issues Performance issues with the IDMS ODBC driver are now resolved.
DBMS Exact Type Functionality Performance issues with the DBMS Exact Type functionality are now resolved.
Thread Security Issues in Random Functionality Security issues with the Random functionality are now resolved.
"Cannot find Object in database" Error Importing a transformation that has a space in the table name generates a "Cannot find Object in database" error.
The issue is resolved.
Error when Installing CONNX on z/OS When you install CONNX on a z/OS system manually, an error message might show in the z/OS tab in the CONNX Server setup application with RMODE checkbox selected.
The issue is resolved.
Error in Left Signed Overpunch Read Routine Errors in the left signed overpunch read routine are now resolved.
Duplicate Error for JDBC DSN Names A duplicate error about adding the name of a 64-bit DSN to a 32-bit DSN might show for JDBC DSNs.

64-bit JDBC DSN Added to 32-bit Registry A 64-bit DSN might incorrectly get added to the 32-bit DSN registry.

REST Server not Adding the Correct String into JDBC DSN The REST Server does not add the correct string into a JDBC DSN.

Performance Issues with RMS Inserts Performance issues with RMS inserts are now resolved.
Ignoring Selected Target Database When you import from CISAM, CONNX might ignore the selected target database.
The issue is resolved.
Purge History Method in DataSync The Purge History method in DataSync did a drop and recreate of the TableSynchronizations and GroupSynchronizations tables instead of doing a truncate.
The issue is resolved.
ExecuteNonQuery not Returning Records When you use the wire protocol method in the .NET data provider, ExecuteNonQuery does not return the affected records.

Incorrect Table Names for Imports from Adabas Sysobjh Table names might incorrectly include an additional MU or PE after a PE with a single MU in imports from Adabas Sysobjh.
The issue is resolved.
Error Messages in Calling Program A calling program now properly receives all error messages about Microfocus, CISAM, and DISAM.
