CONNX Data Integration Suite 14.8.0 | DataSync | Managing Connections and CDDs

Managing Connections and CDDs
Connections are managed with the Connect to a CDD dialog. You can access this dialog by clicking the Gear icon and selecting Manage Connection, or by clicking the CDD Connection icon. You must activate a CDD through the Connect to a CDD dialog in order to use DataSync.
Note:
By default CDDs are read only. You need to change the global permissions of a CDD through the CONNX Data Dictionary (both web based and classic work) in order to use that CDD with DataSync.
Step 1 - Select CDD
Select a CDD or Browse to one.
Step 2 - Integrated Login
The Integrated Login step collects the CONNX User ID and Password for the CDD. The CONNX REST Server will not be able to prompt for back end credentials in order to tie the CDD user and password to the back end user id and password. Therefore, a CDD user will need to be created prior to activating the CDD. This can be accomplished by connecting to the CDD with InfoNaut and letting InfoNaut automatically set up the CDD user. Another way of doing this is to have an administrator add the desired users in the CDD and associate the appropriate back end credentials with each user id. See Administration Guide -> CONNX Security -> CONNX Users and Groups for more information on CDD Management.
Step 3 - Select Target
Select the default database you want to sync to. You can always change the default database by clicking Gear > Settings > Sync Behavior.
Important Remarks
*When upgrading the DataSync Server from a version of DataSync prior to 14.5, the new DataSync server will use the active CDD from the old version (see DataSync Classic). This CDD will remain in the location it was in with the old version.
*The use of both DataSync Server and DataSync Classic on the same server is not recommended. If they are used together, be aware that they share several internal components. Activating a new CDD in the DataSync Server will cause DataSync Classic to use that CDD as well. The same is true of changing the CDD in DataSync Classic. Doing this will cause the DataSync Server to use that CDD the next time it is started which could lead to confusion and possibly error situations.
