Introduction to Apama > Apama Glossary > block
block
Reusable module that generates or responds to events. You can import and use one or more blocks in a scenario. Blocks can accept input, execute some logic, and return some results. Blocks can consist of input feeds, output feeds, parameters, and operations. Apama provides standard blocks, which are described in Using Standard Blocks. You can define additional blocks by using Apama Studio’s block editor. Also called a SmartBlock.
