Deploying and Managing Apama Applications > The Apama Web Services Client Adapter > Upstream multithreading
Upstream multithreading
The Web Services client adapter supports using multiple threads for sending input messages. In some situations an application may experience throughput performance gains when using multiple threads. Situations that may benefit from the use of multiple threads include:
*Template-based input mapping where there are a large number of substitution variables in the template.
*The number of input mapping rules is high.
Input mapping is scalable in only a few selected types of mapping so, by default the adapter does not use an upstream thread pool and upstream processing takes place in the default IAF thread. If you want your application to use upstream multithreading, you need to specify a value for the minUpstreamThreads property.
