Before You Begin Installing Adabas Service for Java
This section provides information you must know about Adabas Service for Java before installing it and describes information you need to provide during installation.

Operating SystemAdabas Service for Java is compatible only with the z/OS operating system.
Software Requirements Adabas Service for Java requires that the Adabas load library from any supported Adabas version is available.
APF Authorization Depending on the operational mode, Adabas Service for Java might require running authorized necessitating all load libraries specified in the STEPLIB to be APF-authorized.
Refer to Step 11 in the Installation Procedure section for specific APF-authorization information.
Licensing Depending on the operational mode, Adabas Service for Java might require an AZPAD (Adabas for zIIP) license and to support this requirement, the MLC load library must also be available to the job.
If an AZPAD license is not available or is invalid, operational modes that require a license can't be accessed. For general information on Adabas licensing procedures, license check software, and license files, refer to the "Software AG Mainframe Product Licensing" section in the Adabas for Mainframes documentation.

Using An Adabas System Coordinator Enabled Link Module Fix MO831003 is a prerequisite for the successful operation of Adabas Service for Java when running with a COR-enabled Adabas link module in a single-threaded environment. This fix applies to the COR link module stub CORS01 and, after applying the fix, all Adabas link modules, which use CORS01, must be relinked.
