How to Upgrade an Existing Database (Single Node)
To upgrade a single node in an existing cluster:
1. Convert the Adabas database to the current version.
For information about how to convert an existing database from one version to another, see Converting a Database from a previous Version to Version 7.2 and vice versa in the Adabas for Linux and Cloud 7.2 documentation.
2. Set the cluster-relevant parameters.
For information about the Adabas nucleus parameters that are available to support the cluster interface, see
Adabas Server Configuration.
3. Start the database as the primary node of the cluster with the following command:
adastart dbid
Each additional (secondary) node receives a copy of the data via State Snapshot Transfer (SST).
