Action

Perform the following to re-instate Direct Access optimization for the file(s) in question:

  • Ensure all Adabas System Coordinator daemons within the COR group are active.

  • Schedule a stop and restart of the database/database instance identified in this message.

  • Schedule an AFP RESTART of the local Adabas Fastpath buffer (this will automatically be propagated to all Adabas Fastpath buffers within the COR group).

AFP-0089-04 Peer daemon gone; d-a optimization may be affected
Explanation

A COR daemon in the same group on a remote lpar has gone away. Any file that has a distributed update sensitivity (all ALS files and any for which the update sensitivity has been set manually to ‘D’ in the file parameters) will have direct-access (d-a) optimization switched off, as Adabas Fastpath perceives a risk that remote updates from the lpar in question may no longer be distributed.

Action

Determine if one or more remote COR daemons have been brought down deliberately.

  • If all COR daemons in the group are in the process of being shut down, no action is required.

  • If the COR daemon identified in the message was shut down deliberately and this shut down was preceded by the shutting down of all instances of Adabas databases that were distributing updates, optimization can be resumed on the other lpars by issuing an AFP RESTART operator command against any active COR daemon in the group.

  • If the COR daemon identified in the message was shut down deliberately but this shut down was not preceded by the shutting down of all instances of Adabas databases that were distributing updates, optimization can be resumed by, firstly, either (a) restarting the COR daemon; or (b) shutting down all instances of Adabas databases that were distributing updates; and, secondly, issuing an AFP RESTART operator command against any active COR daemon in the group.

  • If the COR daemon came down unexpectedly, restart the COR daemon and once active, resume AFP optimization by issuing an AFP RESTART operator command against any active COR daemon in the group.

AFP-0090-04 Job xxxxxxxx failed to connect; ABM services not licensed
Explanation

Adabas Fastpath requires an AFP license to be available to the Asynchronous Buffer Manager (ABM). Jobs are unable to connect to the ABM if the AFP license check fails.

Action

Correct the AFP license and issue a LICREFRESH operator command to the Adabas System Coordinator daemon. The specified job will periodically attempt reconnection and, after a successful reconnection, an AFP-0091-04 message should be issued.

AFP-0091-04 Job xxxxxxxx connected ok; ABM services now licensed
Explanation

This message indicates that job xxxxxxxx has now successfully connected to the Fastpath Buffer after an earlier AFP-0090-04 message was issued for this job due to an AFP license check failure in the COR daemon hosting the Fastpath Buffer.

Action

None.

AFP-0092-04 DB xxxxx excluded from Auditing - ADA version mismatch
Explanation

One or more files in database number xxxxx, which are configured for direct-access optimization, are defined to audit access commands (via database ADAANP parameters), but the Adabas version of the database is greater than that of the Adabas System Coordinator daemon.

To support the auditing of optimized access commands, the Adabas version of the Adabas System Coordinator daemon must not be less than that of the database.

Direct-access optimization for these files may continue, but no audit data for such optimized commands will be collected.

Action

Either update:

  • the version of Adabas used by the Adabas System Coordinator daemon

  • the Adabas version of the database

AFP-0093-04 DB xxxxx exclusion from Auditing lifted - ADA version ok
Explanation

This message may be seen after corrective action has been taken following the issuance of an AFP-0092-04 message.

The collection of audit data will now occur for optimized direct-access commands to files configured for auditing on database number xxxxx.

Action

None.

AFP-0094-04 Auditing disallowed for DB xxxxx file(s) using Server sssss
Explanation

The Adabas version of the audit server sssss is less than that of database number xxxxx.

No audit data will be collected for optimized direct-access commands for files on this database that have been defined for auditing (via database ADAANP parameters) using audit server sssss.

Direct-access optimization for these files may continue, but no audit data for such optimized commands will be collected.

Action

Either update:

  • the version of Adabas used by the audit server

  • the Adabas version of the database

AFP-0095-04 Auditing re-allowed for DB xxxxx file(s) using Server sssss
Explanation

This message may be seen after corrective action has been taken following the issuance of an AFP-0094-04 message.

The collection of audit data will now occur for optimized direct-access commands to files configured for auditing on database number xxxxx using audit server sssss.

Action

None.
