The Adabas Directory Server provides central management of directory services. It runs as either a Windows service or a UNIX daemon. All directory information required to accomplish communication between clients and servers is obtained from the Directory Server. Only Directory Server address information, essentially the host and port of the Directory Server, is required for clients and servers to use the Directory Server.
This document describes the new and changed features of Version 5.9 of the Adabas Directory Server.
This release introduces:
An Adabas Directory Server running on z/OS mainframe as a Java application under Unix System Services. See Installing and Running Adabas Directory Server on z/OS for details.
Administration of the Adabas Directory Server using Adabas Manager Version 8.5 or above. For details on managing Adabas Directory Server, please see the Adabas Manager documentation. The old Entire Net-Work Administration product using System Management Hub is no longer supported for administration.
Fixes to Adabas Directory Server 5.9 on Linux, UNIX and Windows are delivered using the Software AG Update Manager. Please see Installing and Uninstalling Adabas Directory Server for further details.
Fixes to Adabas Directory Server on z/OS will be delivered as new source and/or .tar file updates.
