Diagnostics and Troubleshooting

This section describes the information available for diagnostics and troubleshooting.


Log Files

The Data Archiving for Adabas service writes information to log files in the product’s log directory during normal operation. One log file is written per day and the format of the filename is corYYYMMDD.log.

Entries are written to the log file for significant events such as Daemons being started or shutdown. In the case of an error the log file may contain additional information that is not available in the Web Interface.

Each line in the log file is prefixed with the date/time and a message identifier. Further details about the message identifiers associated with audit events can be found in the Messages and Codes section.

The log files are retained indefinitely but may be deleted manually as and when required. The content of the log files includes hostnames and IP addresses for diagnostic and troubleshooting purposes.
