SYSAVI

SYSAVI is the same Natural application as that used to manage Adabas Vista configuration in the mainframe Adabas Online System (AOS).

For general information about Adabas Vista administration using SYSAVI, please refer to the Adabas Vista for Mainframes documentation for version 7.4.2.

The are some differences when using SYSAVI to configure Adabas Vista for Windows and Unix which are described below.

Job Parameters

The Job Parameter definitions allow specific parameter values to be allocated to different jobs. Adabas Vista for Unix and Windows equates jobs to machines. Therefore applications running on the same machine will use the same job parameters.

When setting up a Job Parameter definition for a machine, you must

  • Set the Job Type to Batch

  • Set Job Name to the machine name

The machine name should be the official, unqualified hostname of the machine. The name should be no more that eight characters in length. This maintains consistency with other Software AG products.

It is recommended that you create a *Default definition with the Vista ON/OFF parameter set to OFF and then create job parameter records explicitly for each machine with Vista ON/OFF parameter set to ON.

The following notes apply to job parameters:

  • Enable Profile Overrides are not currently supported
