This release of Adabas Vista has some functional restrictions that are detailed below.
Mixed database platforms are not supported. The partitions defined to an Adabas Vista file must reside in the same type of Adabas platform.
The Multi-Part Facility (Shared Partition) is not supported. The partitions defined to an Adabas Vista file must reside in separate physical files, on a one-to-one basis.
The Restricted Partition facility is not supported. The partitions defined to an Adabas Vista file will always have the access attribute FULL.
The Distributed Lock Mode
parameter is restricted
to mode 0 (standard record hold logic).
The partitioning field must be one of the following types: field, descriptor, phonetic descriptor, subdescriptor or super descriptor. Hyper descriptors, long alpha fields, large object fields, multiple value fields and periodic groups are not supported.
The Consolidation facility is supported, but the partitioning field must exist in the FDT of all partitions. Non-existent partitioning fields cannot be used to consolidate entirely dissimilar files.
The Adabas Vista API is not supported.
Generations are not supported.
Job Profile Overrides are not supported.
