An existing Adabas database must first be converted to the current version.For more detailed information - see chapter "Converting a Database from a previous Version to Version 7.1".

After successful conversion, the cluster-relevant parameters can be set - see chapter Adabas Server Configuration and the database can be started as the primary node of the cluster. Each additional (secondary) node receives a copy of the data via 'State Snapshot Transfer (SST)'.
