Infrastructural Considerations
Adabas Cluster is intended for installion on Virtual Machines, as well as deployment in contemporary Docker containers.
The Cluster can operate from on-premise datacenters but also from Cloud-based hyperscalers such as Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.
Adabas instances require storage solutions with high performance. In particular the write performance should offer minimal latency.
All instances involved should have very good performing network connections. This is to ensure that transfer of Initial State and Delta State can rely on a very high throughput.
Given the fact that any transaction on the database is only committed successfully after having been certified across all instances via the network, it becomes clear that the latency between all instances determines the overall performance of the cluster.
