The utility communication block (UCB) comprises entries for each Adabas utility currently operating, describing the resources each utility is using.
You can review the Utility Communication Block of Adabas open systems databases as follows:
To review the Utility Communication Block of an Adabas database:
Select an Adabas database in tree-view.
Right-click the database name in tree-view.
Select
on the drop-down menu.The Utility Communication Block panel appears in detail-view. It includes the following information about the Adabas database:
the entry ID
the utility
the mode
the number of locked files
An Adabas utility removes its entry from the UCB when it terminates normally. If a utility terminates abnormally (for example, the job is cancelled by the operator), the files used by that utility remain "in use". Any such files may be released with the Reset UCB function.
To reset the UCB of an Adabas database:
Select an Adabas database in tree-view.
Right-click the database name in tree-view.
Select
on the drop-down menu.The UCB information appears in detail-view.
Click
to return to the UCB information panel.
