The section Upgrading an ASF Installation in the ASF Installation documentation provides the upgrade procedure for existing ASF environments. ASF 8.1 uses new and modified Adabas field definitions for the ASF Data file. Therefore you must perform the procedure described in the section Customize Adabas Field definitions in the ASF Installation documentation.
If you are using Software AG's System Maintenance Aid (SMA) for the installation process, set the ASF-FIRST-INSTALL parameter to N. For information about using SMA, refer to the System Maintenance Aid Documentation.
The executable cataloged programs of ASF are loaded into the Natural library SYSASF.
