The following features have been dropped from Adabas in version 8.2:
On z/VSE systems, device types 2512 and 3512 have been discontinued, because the definitions were incompatible with the physical characteristics of the SCSI devices.
Device type 1512 as supplied in Adabas 8.1 SP3 and 8.1 SP4 was also discontinued. However, device type 1512 has been redefined with changed track and cylinder sizes. The track and cylinder sizes now in use are compatible with those introduced with zap AD813035 (for Adabas 8.1 SP3) or AD814005 (for Adabas 8.1 SP4).
For more information, read Device and File Considerations.
This release no longer requires that you link the Adabas SVC (ADASVC) with SAF (SVCSAF) during installation. In Adabas 8.2, the SVC is automatically linked to SAF and the SVCSAF WAL library member is no longer supplied.
The NONUC parameter in the ADARES COPY utility function is deactivated in Adabas 8.2. You can still specify the parameter, but it is ignored.
We no longer deliver ADACIRQ with Adabas on z/OS and z/VSE systems and DDLINK input is no longer required in CICS installations. For more information, read CICS Installation Changes.
The ADARUN PLOGSEGSDS parameter has been dropped and has been replaced with the ADARUN SRLOG parameter. For more information, read SRLOG Parameter: Controlling Spanned Record Logging.
