This section provides an overview of the installation changes for Adabas Vista Version 8.1.
You will need to define the libraries SYSAVI and SYSMV81x to Natural Security.
The layout for partitioned and translation files has changed for Adabas Vista Version 8.1.
Adabas Vista Online Services (SYSAVI) Version 8.1 will detect if the currently defined configuration file has not already been converted, and will prompt you with the option of running the conversion process. The prompt will remind you to back up the configuration file before proceeding with the conversion.
As in previous releases, there is a requirement to use an unmodified ADALNK in certain areas. With Version 8.1 this has been reduced to unmodified ADALNK being needed to run standalone Adabas utility jobs only.
