Accessing Adabas Review

Review is a standard Natural application that resides in the Natural library SYSREVDB.

Start of instruction setTo access Adabas Review

  1. Access Natural as you do normally.

  2. At the NEXT prompt, enter LOGON SYSREVDB.

  3. At the prompt, enter MENU.

Your Review administrator can tell you if an alternative logon procedure has been defined.

When you log on to Review, the Main Menu screen is displayed.

An explanation of the Main Menu fields is provided in the following table:

Code Function Action
AA Available Adabas Nuclei Display the Adabas Availability screen, which lists active Adabas nuclei.
AO Adabas Online System Access the Adabas Online System, an online Adabas maintenance product.
EB Edit Buffer Pool Report Specify the database for which a buffer pool report is to be generated.
ER Edit Report Create reports that collect data about Adabas usage and performance.
ET Edit Target (administrators only) Define the target databases monitored by Adabas Review. The definitions are used when generating input cards for batch and autostarted Adabas Review reports.
EL Edit Pulse Report Define the settings for an Adabas pulse report. A pulse report is a report that receives data from Adabas on an interval basis. Adabas transmits a pulse record to Review once for each interval period.
EX Edit Cluster Services Report Define the settings for the Cluster Services report.
LR List Report List existing Adabas Review reports by name. Reports may be edited, started, and purged using the commands in this function.
LH List History Reports List reports that have accumulated history data in the Adabas Review repository.
LS List Started Reports List reports that are currently accumulating data.
LT List Targets List existing target definitions. Administrators may use this function to edit and purge target definitions.
SV SVCs for AA Maintain list of SVCs on Adabas Availability screen.
UP User Profile Create user profiles that define access privileges.

General Use PF Keys

The following PF keys are available on many of the Adabas Review screens:

PF Command Description
1 Help Access the help system.
3 Exit Return to the previous screen.
7 - Scroll backward through a list display.
8 + Scroll forward through a list display.
12 Menu Return to the Adabas Review Main Menu.

Other Adabas Review commands and PF keys are local to a particular function or screen. These commands are usually shown on the relevant screen and have PF keys assigned to them.

Commands used in the list functions are not displayed on the screen. These commands may be displayed by using the online help system.
