Administration Version 5.9.1

Entire Net-Work Administration 5.9.1 Release Information

Entire Net-Work Administration is provided to allow Event Replicator Administration to make calls to Adabas and Reptor databases residing on the mainframe . It communicates with Entire Net-Work Client components on open systems.

Read this document carefully before installing and using Entire Net-Work Administration version 5.9.1. It covers the following topics:

Overview

A Simple Connection Line Driver (TCPX) is supplied with Entire Net-Work Administration. It provides communication between Adabas databases (running on z/OS systems) and client applications that use Software AG's new e-business connections. The new e-business connections make use of:

Software AG products that support the e-business communication protocol and the Software AG Directory Server currently include Tamino, Jadabas, Entire Net-Work 7, Entire Net-Work Client, and any other product that transports client requests using Software AG’s ADALNKX module. The underlying transport mechanism is TCP/IP.

Note:
The Simple Connection Line Driver cannot connect to another Simple Connection Line Driver.

The Software AG Directory Server is a centralized component that provides all directory information required to communicate between clients and servers and eliminates the need for directory configuration files on every machine. The code for the Software AG Directory Server is included in the Entire Net-Work Client code available on Servline24. Entire Net-Work Client is a Software AG product option that includes the code for the System Management Hub, the Software AG Directory Server, and an Entire Net-Work e-business Client (also provided with Entire Net-Work 7.2). To use the Simple Connection Line Driver, you must have the Software AG Directory Server installed somewhere on your system. If you have already installed this code with another Software AG product, we recommend that you use the installed code, so that your organization uses only one shared Directory Server. If you have not previously installed the Software AG Directory Server, please use the one from the Entire Net-Work Client installation. For more information about the Software AG Directory Server, read Software AG Directory Server Documentation. For more information about Entire Net-Work Client, read Entire Net-Work Client Administration.

For complete information on the Simple Connection Line Driver, read Simple Connection Line Driver Overview.
