Version 6.3.1
 —  Adabas Administration  —

Date/Time Support

A lot of the data stored in databases contains date/time information. This information is stored and processed in different formats. Starting with Version 6.2, Adabas supports the automatic conversion between different formats for date/time information. For detailed information about the date/time formats that are supported, please refer to FDT Record Structure, Definition Options, Option Date/Time (DT) and Option Local Time Zone (TZ) .

This document covers the following topics:

Time Zone Database

Adabas also supports the conversion of timestamps to the local time zone. In order to do this, it is necessary to make the time zone database known as the Olson database (see http://www.twinsun.com/tz/tz-link.htm) available for Adabas. In Unix operating systems, the time zone database is usually included in the operating system; for other operating systems, the time zone database valid at the time when an Adabas kit is created is included in the Adabas kit.
